🪜 How To Install N8N-MCP Server in Claude Desktop:
- Install Claude Desktop App
- Install Node.js
- Go To GitHub Repo
- Copy npx n8n-mcp (snippet)
- Open Terminal
- Paste in snippet & press Return
- Stop Terminal Process (Ctrl + C)
- Return To GitHub Repo & Copy Full Configuration File
- In Claude Desktop, open Settings
- Click on ‘Developer’
- Click on ‘Edit Config’
- Add N8N URL & API Key
- Save Config File
- Quit Claude Desktop & Re-Open
- Click on ‘Settings & Tools’ to confirm n8n-mcp is active
- Return to GitHub Repo & Copy 🤖 Claude Project Setup
- Create a New Project in Claude Desktop (Paid Plans only)
- Click + Instructions and paste 🤖 Claude Project Setup
- Enter Prompt in Claude to build n8n workflow and press ‘Submit’
- Accept permission requests
- Copy JSON File when Claude is finished
- Open N8N and click ‘+’ Workflow
- Paste JSON Code or click Ellipsis and ‘Import File’
- Set Credentials
- Vibe Code with Claude to fix issues or make changes
- Test n8n Workflow and activate when finished
- Rinse & Repeat!
