About
Hi, I'm Mike Murphy.
I make practical tutorials for people who want to use AI tools, automation, and creative tech without turning every project into a giant mystery.
The Alchemist taught me the treasure was never the destination—it was who you became finding it. I learned that for real walking over six hundred miles across Spain on the Camino de Santiago.

I spent a decade as a tech handyman, podcaster, and After Effects guy, teaching creators how to use their creative tools. Then AI showed up and I got hooked. Not on generating pictures or chasing every new AI tool, but on figuring out how the stuff actually worked—learning the terminal, working with code, building automations, and running my own infrastructure. I started making tutorials on the stuff most channels skip because it's either too complex or too boring to explain.
I followed my gut.
Then came a fork in the road: stick with Adobe Creative Cloud, the thing my channel was known for, or follow my gut into AI and risk years of brand recognition? I followed my gut. My early AI tutorials were rough, but I kept explaining things as I was learning them. The more I taught, the better I got. Go figure. The transition wasn't easy, but I kept going.
Turns out if you can talk someone through six hundred miles of blisters and doubt, you can talk them through a terminal window too.
Today I've made more than 1,800 tutorials on YouTube, I publish the AI Unplugged newsletter and a podcast, and I'm turning this Astro site I built into the home base for everything I've learned—and everything I'm still learning—about building with AI.
What I'm building now
And now I'm building Agent Evergreen, my answer to one of the biggest problems I've run into as a tutorial maker: AI tutorials start going stale almost as soon as you publish them. Instead of giving you another tutorial or course to watch and then figure out on your own, I'm building working systems you can fork and own with AI agents that monitor them, maintain them, and help keep them current as the technology changes.
I call it programmatic knowledge. Build the knowledge once. Let agents help keep it alive.
If you're learning this stuff as you go too, you're in the right place. I don't have all the answers. I just keep building, figuring things out, and making tutorials about what I learn.
Stick around. I'm just getting started. There's a lot more to build.
Cheers! Mike 🌲
