Google Analytics uses a first-party cookie to distinguish visitors and sessions. Umami does not use cookies or track visitors across different websites. It uses a visitor's IP address and browser information to create an anonymized session and determine approximate location; Umami states that the IP address is not stored. We do not send names, email addresses, or other direct identifiers to either analytics service.
