This tutorial will show you how to add the PingPong Expression + Modifiers in Adobe After Effects CC 2024 which will create an endless loop between the first and last keyframes.
Adobe After Effects CC 2023: How To Add PingPong Expression
**Description:
**This tutorial will show you how to add the PingPong Expression + Modifiers in Adobe After Effects CC 2024 which will create an endless loop between the first and last keyframes.
**Keyboard Shortcuts:
**Position Property: P
Scale Property: S
Reveal All KeyFrames: EE
**Ping Pong Expression:
**Endlessly loops animation between first and last keyframes .
**Ping Pong Expression:
**loopOut(“pingpong”)
**Ping Pong (w/Modifier):
**loopOut(“pingpong”,1)…the number tells After Effects how many keyframes to go back from the last keyframe and only loop the last part.

How To Animate a Shape Layer Using the Position Property (The Basics):
- Create a Composition
- Drag Playhead to beginning of the timeline
- Tap ‘P’ for Position Property
- Click on Stopwatch to create a keyframe
- Drag Playhead Forward in Time
- Hold Shift Key and drag object to the right
- Press Spacebar to preview the simple left to right animation
How To Add the LoopOut PingPong Express:
- Select/highlight shape layer in Layers Panel
- Drag Playhead to beginning of the timeline
- Tap ‘P’ for Position Property
- Hold the Option or Alt Key and Click on Position Stopwatch
- Select Text in Expression Editor
- Type in loopOut(“pingpong”) and click outside of Expression Editor to commit changes
- Press Spacebar to preview
- Adjust keyframes to change speed (closer together = faster…)
How To Add Modifier To PingPong Expression
- Select Layer with PingPong Expression
- Tap EE to Reveal PingPong Expression
- Click inside expression and place cursor between last double-quote & parenthesis)
- Type a Comma and then a number such as 1
- Press Spacebar to Preview
