**Adobe After Effects CC 2025 (Click To Try or Buy)
How To Prepare Animated Grid Paper Background:
- Create New Composition
- Add Grid Paper Texture
- Increase Scale of Texture to be bigger than background
- Drag CTI to the beginning of the Timeline
- Tap P for Position Property
- Click Stopwatch to add a keyframe
- Right-click on Keyframe and select ‘Toggle Hold Keyframe’
- Move CTI forward in time by 10 Frames (Shift + Option + Right arrow)
- Manually move texture on Comp Window to a new location
- Repeat moving CTI 10 Frames and changing Position all the way down the Timeline
- Tap Spacebar to Preview Animation
- Add Elements to Scene
- Change Blend Mode to Color Burn (or preferred look)
- Add ‘Hand-Drawn’ Effect to subtle animation of elements
How To Animate Text Layers:
- Add Text (Londrina Solid Font used)
- Twirl open Text Layer
- Click on ‘Animate’
- Select ‘Position’
- Click on ‘Add’
- Click on ’Selector’
- Click on ‘Wiggly’
- Change Y value of Position to 5
- Add Layer Style Drop Shadow
- Tap Spacebar to Preview
How To Make Cardboard Texture Letters:
- Add Cardboard (or any) texture layer
- Add Text Layer (to serve only as a guide)
- Select Cardboard layer
- Select Pen Tool
- Click Points and trace around text layers
- Repeat for all letters
- Delete Text Guide Layer to reveal cardboard letters in hand-drawn style
How To Animate Hand-Painted Texture (Offset Effect):
- Add Hand-Painted Texture
- Go to ‘Effects & Presets’ Panel
- Search for Offset Effect and drag on to Texture Layer
- Option + Click on stop-watch next to ‘Shift Center To’
- Enter Expression:

wiggle(5,5000) - Press SpaceBar to preview
How To Use Track Mattes:
- Go to Animated Texture Layer
- Go to ‘Track Matte Column’
- Click the drop-down and select ‘Text’ Layer
How To Create ‘Sticker’ Page Turn Effect:
- Select Pre-Comp of Text Layer
- Go to ‘Effects & Presets’ panel
- Search for ‘CC Page Turn’ effect
- Drag CTI forward
- Click on stop-watch next to ‘Fold Position’ to add a keyframe (end of animation)
- Drag CTI to the beginning of the Timeline
- Change Fold Position to starting position (fold to the left)
- Tap SpaceBar to preview
