How To Add the Wiggle Expression Adobe After Effects CC 2024:

  1. Create a new Composition
  2. Add a graphics layer such as a logo that you want to ‘Wiggle’
  3. Select the logo layer
  4. Tap ‘P’ to bring up the Position Property
  5. Press the Option(Mac) or Alt(Windows) key and click on the stopwatch next to Position
  6. Type in the Wiggle Expression: wiggle(2,20,0.5)

How To Add Slider Controls to the Wiggle Expression Adobe After Effects CC 2022:

  1. Select layer with Wiggle Expression
  2. Go to top Menu and select Effect…Expression Controls…Slider Control
  3. Go to Effect Controls
  4. Select Slider Control and tap Enter to Rename to Frequency
  5. Duplicate Frequency Control by selecting and right-clicking…duplicate or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + D
  6. Rename 2nd Slider Control by selecting…tap Enter/Return…type in Amplitude
  7. Duplicate Frequency Control by selecting and right-clicking…duplicate or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + D
  8. Rename 3rd Slider Control by selecting…tap Enter/Return…type in Octaves
  9. Go to Wiggle Expression in the Timeline (Tap EE to show all expressions)
  10. Select the first number (highlight with cursor)
  11. Look to the left of timeline for Position Property and select the pick whip icon (curly circle)
  12. Drag the pick whip to the Frequency Slider Control in ‘Effect Controls’
  13. Repeat for the 2nd Number, but drag the pick whip to the Amplitude Slider
  14. Repeat for the 3rd Number, but drag the pick whip to the Octaves Slider
  15. Change the numbers for each Slider Control to 2,20,0.5
  16. Press Spacebar to preview
  17. Done

How To Add the Expression Comments:

  1. Click on Wiggle Expression in the Timeline
  2. Type 2 forward slashes (//)
  3. Enter Single Line Comment
  4. Type forward slash + asterisk (/*) and add multiple line comment
  5. Close comment with asterisk + forward slash (*/)
